For this occasion, AFIM has specifically organized two events.
On March 1st in Venice at the Collegium Tarsicii Martyris, S. Marco, 1731 (Frezzaria), 30124 Venice, the exhibition dedicated to Bishop Camozzo and all the priests of Rijeka who followed him into exile will be inaugurated.
On March 7 in Florence, at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory there will be a piano concert by maestro Giovanni Bellucci in honor of Sergio Sablich, a musicologist from Rijeka, on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of his death.
Also for 2025, the "Il Treno del Ricordo" initiative is renewed, promoted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and in collaboration with the FS Foundation. The initiative includes the setting up of a multimedia exhibition in a historic train, which ideally retraces the journey made by the Istrian, Rijeka and Dalmatian exiles. On its journey from Trieste to Sassari, the train will pass through 7 Italian cities, including Padua, where it will stop on February 12 and 13 at platform 10. The historic convoy hosts a multimedia exhibition on board that ideally traces the journey made by the Julian Dalmatian exiles. The four main wagons correspond to the four sections into which the exhibition is divided: Italianity, Exodus, Journey of Pain and Memories of a Life. Along the way it is possible to see archive footage from the Istituto Luce Archive and Rai Teche, original videos, photographs and household goods provided by the Regional Institute for Istrian-Rijeka-Dalmatian Culture (IRCI).
AFIM wishes all members a great new year. We will do everything possible to involve you more and more in the events that concern our Fiume.
On December 14, the Padua office was inaugurated after renovation work.
A conference room with 30 seats and a digital projector is now available.
One room is completely dedicated to a library with about 2000 volumes arranged on the shelves.
Everything will be cataloged according to the most modern systems and everything will be put online.
The goal was to create a cultural center for the events that involved the eastern Italian border.
